Product Description
The comeback: And there it was - the Houston Oilers led the Buffalo Bills 35-3 with 13:15 to go in the third quarter in the 1992 AFC Divisional Playoffs. The Oilers were flawless the Bills moribund. Game over. Done. Or so everyone thought. It was the single greatest comeback in NFL History - perhaps the greatest game ever played. And now for the first time the original network broadcast is yours. Watch for yourself as Warren Moon executed the run-and-shoot offense to perfection in the first half only to have everything unravel in the second. Witness the heroics of back-up quarterback Frank Reich who led the Bills back bit by bit to the game's thrilling conclusion.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: SPORTS/GAMES UPC: 085391202356

4 out of 5 stars Finally!!!   May 18, 2008
Now I can wear my Greatest Comeback sweatshirt while watching the game! I lived in Buffalo when this game was played, and had to listen to it on the radio. I've seen bad VHS copies, probably taped from a TV screen, but never got to see that actual game until now. My only issue is that they used the NFL announcers instead of our more colorful Buffalo announcers who really added excitement to the comeback.

4 out of 5 stars Bills-Oilers 1993 Comeback Game is a rare treat and great value   December 24, 2007

This is a rebroadcast of the entire game - and best thing of all: no commercials!!! Of course, there is also little in the way of pregame, and no halftime, but other than one or two times where I thought I could perceive an edit made in the broadcast to fit everything into 2 hours or so, this is the actual broadcast, from beginning to end.

I am a lifelong Bills fan who lived in NYC when this game was played, so because of the blackout imposed in Buffalo for this game, this what about the only time for me that living in NYC worked to my advantage as far as seeing the Bills on TV when they were in their glory years. I remember the game well, and taped it and have revisited that tape (fast-forwarding much of the first half, of course), and this DVD appears to me to be a 98 or 99% complete rebroadcast.

Remember that this is presented in original, pre-hi-def NTSC format, so this will play on your big screen like any analog broadcast of today (e.g., NBC, instead of NBCHD). Charlie Jones and Todd Christensen (spelling?) do the play-by-play and the color commentary (and dig Todd's early 90's, permed mullet!).

This DVD is NOT the same as the NFL Films retrospective on the game shown on ESPN over the last few years, which was shot on film and included interviews with game participants many years later (and which does show well on a big screen). Of course, that was a great NFL Films presentation in and of itself, and a great complement to this DVD.

Regardless, to have this historic artifact at this low price makes this a GREAT VALUE for any Bills Fan!!!

5 out of 5 stars Happy with order   December 24, 2007
I was very happy with my order. It came on time and it met my expectations.

5 out of 5 stars This release could be the start....,   November 2, 2007

...of NFL films releasing of full NFL game coverage of the past. If so, then these DVD releases should be popular for a lot of football fans like myself. That aside it is fitting that they chose this game to start the ball rolling (also there is a 12 game collection of the Bears during their dynamic 1985 season (the team and season that made me a fan in the first place).

The game featured on this DVD comes from the playoffs in 1993. I remember seeing it lived when it was broadcasted on NBC. I only remember this game so well because one of my favorite teams (The Oilers, led by Warren Moon and his receivers Haywood Jefferies and Curtis Duncan) had all but completely ran away with the game by the half. It looked as though the perpetual AFC Champion Bills were going to end their winning streak. The NBC commentators even went as far as to jeopardize their ratings by saying in effect that it would be nearly impossible for the Bills to come back and win. You can take a guess at the outcome of the game by the size of the Buffalo Bills name on the DVD cover. Frank Reich was the Bills QB, Reed, Beebe (who was involved in a controversial play). I was just a kid when I saw this game live and it was heartbreaking to watch at the time, but it was a grat football game and well worth watching again. Historical note for newer football fans, the Oilers became the Titans and look for many current hall of famers in the line-up. This DVD and the Bears boxed set should be good and the start of something better.
